Navie is an avid resource for those in his community.  He spends his time outside of class volunteering and serving as president of the . Every other Friday, Navie spends an hour mentoring his “little brother” at Springfield’s Matheny-Withrow Elementary School through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. He also volunteers as a member of the where he serves as secretary. Navie works as a student orientation coordinator and is a member of the Necessary Steps Mentoring Program.


Rosie Dawoud

Major: Legal Studies

Rosie Dawoud is a voice for UIS students with her involvement in campus politics as the president of the and a student senator serving on the Campus Senate. She is the secretary of the and the . She’s also the treasurer for , which provides feminine products to women in need. She is also a member of the , , and Model United Nations.


Ben Paoletti

Major: Political Science

Ben Paoletti came to UIS with an interest in civic engagement. He is a resident assistant for the Service Program in Lincoln Residence Hall. Ben has also become the vice president of the Alternative Spring Break student organization. In March, he traveled to Houston, Texas with a group of 21 UIS students as part of Alternative Spring Break to clean up Hurricane Harvey damage. Along with Alternative Spring Break, he is an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Ben’s other commitments include being an active member of the , , , , , and .
